What does it involve?

The chin is a very important part of the face which is necessary to give good proportion and harmony to the profile. In those cases where the chin is under-developed, it is possible to enhance the volume through a simple procedure called chin augmentation. Surgery lasts approximately 1 hour and in most cases is performed under general anaesthesia. The silicone implant is placed through a small incision in the internal part of the mouth and positioned over the bony structure of the chin, leaving no visible scars.

After surgery

For a few days after surgery, there will be some swelling, but this usually starts to fade after a week or so and the patient can resume normal social activities. Chin augmentation is frequently performed together with a rhinoplasty, with the result of a greatly improved profile.
