Liposuction (Liposculpture)

What does it involve?

With liposuction the surgeon has the possibility of reshaping the body by removing excess fat in localised areas. Liposuction can treat very small areas (knees, double chin) or larger areas (abdomen, hips, flanks, legs, buttocks). According to the amount of fat that is removed and the extent of the surface area to be treated, liposuction can be performed using an epidural, local or general anaesthetic. Surgery can last between 30 minutes and 3 hours and the recovery will be immediate for small cases and slightly longer for the larger procedures.

After surgery

In the following days, patients are advised to walk around and after the first week or so can gradually start to go back to their normal activities. Patients can resume exercise after week 3 or 4. For approximately 4 weeks following surgery, patients will be asked to wear an elastic compression garment. Results are permanent and the fat will not return to the areas treated.
